COVID-19
COVID-19 vaccinations are taking place all across the borough and are free to attend.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Barry Rawlings, has released a statement of reflection:
“As we reach 1,000 deaths due to COVID-19 this week, my thoughts are with those who have tragically lost their lives, as well as with those who have lost their loved ones to the virus.
“Each life lost holds a story and a pain in the hearts of the family and community that has been left behind. We have lost mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, brothers, sisters, friends, neighbours – the list is wide-ranging and unforgiving. And too long.
“As we acknowledge this sad milestone and prepare for the winter months, I urge everyone to continue taking steps to protect themselves and each other.
“When it is your turn, please do step forward for your COVID-19 boosters and flu vaccines, consider safer behaviours such as wearing face coverings in crowded spaces, and let’s all do whatever we can this winter to keep these viruses down and stop them from stealing any more lives away.”
To get vaccinated, or to find out if you’re eligible for the booster and free flu jab and how to book go to nhs.uk/wintervaccinations or speak to your local pharmacy or GP.
