Freedom of Information Request

LTNs

Received: 8 January 2025

I would like to know the following information:1, How many council-owned or operated (commissioned) vehicles, such as road sweepers, rubbish trucks, taxis, busses, maintenance vans, etc, are exempt from fines for travelling through Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) or equivalent traffic scheme barriers / allowed to travel through these barriers without being issued a fine? Please categorise by vehicle type where possible.2, How many FOI requests did your council receive in each of the past six calendar years? For clarity I mean 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. By FOI request, I mean emails / forms not the total number of questions, ie, I would expect you to categorise this email as a single FOI request even though it contains multiple questions within it. 3, How many FOI requests did your council receive in each of the past six calendar years that were about LTNs or had at least one element of the request about LTNs? 4, What has been the cost to the council of its freedom of information service in each of the past six calendar years? 5, How many fines has the council issued to motorists for LTN contraventions in each of the past six calendar years and what is the total value of those fines? In each year could you also please advise the number of LTN fines that have been appealed and the number of appeals that have been successful including those at any external adjudicator. 6, How much has the council spent on designing, consulting, building, marketing, maintaining, re-designing and monitoring/enforcing LTNs in each of the past six calendar years? Where possible this should include estimated staff costs. Ideally, I would like the costs broken down by each element but my principal objective is to establish how much in total the council has spent on LTNs in each of the past six years. Please also include any legal fees incurred by the council which have been related to LTNs. 7, How much has the council paid to external contractors/companies/charities for the design, implementation, construction and maintenance of LTNs in each of the past six calendar years. Please also list the names of external contractors/companies/charities that have been paid more than £10,000 by the council in total over those six years for work related to LTNs and how much in total each of these contractors/companies/charities has been paid? It would also be helpful to give a brief summary of the main types of work that each of these institutions have been used for, such as "design work", "building work", "consultation work", etc.
