Under FOI I would like you to provide the following information please.In relation to works carried out to improvements to the carriageway and footway at the junction of Lyonsdown Road and High Road (Great North Road) in November 2024.1.a. Why was the proposed change, as identified in public consultation documents, to stop vehicles turning right from Lyonsdown Road onto the Great North Road not implemented? Please detail what were the deciding factors that led to this decision being made.1.b. What additional consultation was carried out on this adjustment to the original proposal, to whom was it shared and how? Please also share a copy of any new consultation or advertisement of this change.1.c. If additional consultation or advertisement of this change was not performed, please explain why was it deemed unnecessary to communicate to residents or for notices be placed in the vicinity, prior to the works.2.a. Please provide details on what safety modeling / safety impact analysis was performed, in relation to the impact on cyclists navigating this junction (turning right from Great North Road onto Lyonsdown Road, and turning right from Lyonsdown Road onto Great North Road)?2.b. Please identify if/how the introduction of a narrower carriageway / the northbound cycle lane on the Great North Road was included in this modeling / impact assessment.2.c If performed, please share this modeling/ impact assessment information in as much detail as possible.2.d. If not performed, please confirm why this was not completed, or not required.3. Please provide details of why new traffic lights (pedestrian controlled or otherwise) were not implemented at this junction, as part of the improvement works. Please detail what were the deciding factors that led to this decision.4. Please provide details on the Great North Road northbound cycle lane was introduced and what benefit this provides to cyclists, given the extremely short distance it covers.6.a. Please confirm if a review of improvements to this junction will be carried out, what elements it would cover, by whom, how and when will this review be held.6.b. If no review is to be held, please confirm why this is not required, and what factors would require a review to be held.
