Edgware Station Mural

Received: 17 April 2024

A mural has appeared on the end face of this building, overlooking Edgware Station. With respect to this development: 1 ). How much public funding was spent on the mural and, of this, what proportion was provided by London Borough of Barnet? 2). The electrically-powered advertising gantry that lies in front of the mural now shows a complementary display. One of the screens admonishes drivers to switch off engines in consideration of the environment. The gantry is itself a consumer of power ( electric in this case), the production of some of which contributes to emissions. The display serves no purpose (it does not even generate advertising revenue). In order to set a good example, when will the gantry be switched off? 3). What was the outcome of the public consultation that sought opinions as to the nature of the mural? Personally, given the choice, I'd rather have had a Banksy. He's just done one that gives the appearance of putting green leaves on an otherwise barren tree.
