Local businesses can play a vital role in improving our health and wellbeing. The Healthier High Streets scheme encourages businesses to offer environments where the local community can come together and make healthy choices in safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces.
Businesses within the London Borough of Barnet can apply for up to 5 Healthier High Streets for businesses schemes:
- Healthier Catering Commitment
- Refill Barnet
- Breastfeeding Welcome
- Dementia Friendly
- Community Toilets.
Depending on the scheme, this may include checks to confirm business meets certain criteria. Once checks are completed, the business will be officially part of the Healthier High Streets programme.
Free publicity for businesses on the Barnet Council website, Barnet First magazine, Buzz Newsletter and Barnet Council run social media platforms, banners on railings throughout Town Centre.
Free window signs encouraging potential customers to enter the premises.

- Business Rates
- Corporate Anti-Fraud Team
- Environmental Health.

- Community Toilet Scheme Application form – 10 years
- Financial information of money paid to businesses as part of the Community Toilet Scheme – 10 years.
