Creative Communities

Creative Communities is a new initiative, which delivers a programme of free events, activities and experiences for all ages across Barnet.

Regular Rhyme Time sessions

Rhyme Time sessions run during term time. Session dates and times are listed below.

Mondays from 30 October to 18 December

  • East Finchley library at 10am
  • Edgware library at 10am

Tuesdays from 31 October to 19 December

  • Hendon library at 10am
  • Childs Hill library at 10.15am
  • Chipping Barnet library at 10am

Wednesdays from 1 November to 20 December

  • Burnt Oak library at 10am
  • Osidge Library at 10am
  • Mill Hill library at 10.15am

Thursdays from 2 November to 21 December

  • Colindale library at 10am
  • North Finchley library at 10am

Fridays from 3 November to 15 December

Please note that will be no Rhyme Time sessions on Friday 1 December as all libraries are closed until 5pm for staff training.

  • Finchley Church End library at 10am
  • Golders Green library at 10am

Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rhymes, Stories and Mark Making

Story Making and Rhyme

Join us for a traditional library activity of rhymes and stories with a simple mark making activity at Finchley Church End library on Tuesdays and at Colindale library on Wednesdays.

Sessions must be booked via Eventbrite. Booking opens at 7am on the morning of each session.

Baby Groups

Baby Groups

Free Baby Groups are currently running at Colindale and North Finchley Libraries. These are gentle rhyme and story sessions for non-walking babies and are an ideal opportunity for parents to meet and get to know one another.  Please check our Early Years Eventbrite page for dates, times and booking. 

Play Club

Play Club

Play Club is an activity session at Chipping Barnet library which aims to provide a play space where families can meet and socialize with one another.

We provide opportunities for children to explore and learn through a range of activities focused on physical play and general wellbeing.

Chipping Barnet Library is closed for a refurbishment from Monday 25 September to Sunday 29 October. Play Club sessions will restart after the library reopens. Please check the Eventbrite page as detailed below. 

Booking is essential. Session dates, times and booking links can be found on our Eventbrite Homepage. Booking opens at 7am on the day of the session.

Lego Club

Lego Club

Lego Club is designed for children of all ages and we find it is very popular with children over 3. 

Please check where and when Lego clubs are running on our Events directory

Places will be available on a first come, first served basis. Please book your place at the desk on arrival.
