How our net zero targets affect you

Our net zero emissions targets fall into Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.  

Each scope covers different types of emissions: 

Scope 1 

Emissions produced directly from local activities, such as a gas boiler to heat a building.  

Scope 2 

Emissions that are created indirectly from using electricity generated in another place.  

For example an electricity grid where the emissions could come from coal or gas-fired power stations that supply electricity to homes and businesses in Barnet.  

Scope 3 

Includes all other indirect emissions that are related to consumption, for example emissions caused by the manufacture of vehicles outside of Barnet.
