Increase in funding
Our revamped system for the Area Committees has increased the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding to £400,000 per year, for each committee.
Area Committees are responsible for all constituency specific matters. They also decide who receives the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding within the constituency.

How the funding can be used
The funding is available for a wide variety of projects to develop the infrastructure for the community and residents.
Recent examples include:
- restoration of community centres
- park pavilions
- new play equipment in parks and schools
- tree trails and parks projects
How to request funding
Raise your ideas with your ward councillor who can request this funding through 1 of 3 Area Committees.
Starting in the financial year 2021/22, each Area Committee will consider, develop and approve their own CIL funding priorities annually.
This will allow each Area Committee to make appropriate decisions on how funding is allocated in line with the needs of the area.
